Your season 2 champions are...Val Bure and Katia Gordeeva!!!!

Canada made a great choice. These two were more skilled than any other team. Must be a Russian thing, haha. Regardless, it was a well-earned win for them and their charities.

The program ended quite smashingly. Looks like poor Katia dropped the trophy on the ice. Didn't see it happen but it was in pieces ALL OVER THE ICE. BGL's reaction was priceless.

One other thing: Violetta Afanasieva and her husband, Pete Dack, showed us what Extreme Skating is all about. All I have to say is.....WOW! An incredible performance. Got a great reaction from the crowd. In fact, there's a rumour going around that Launy and Dahlia are going to take up extreme skating!

What were your thoughts on the season finale and the entire season?

Kelly Chase and Kyoko Ina were eliminated tonight. The one time I thought they should advance, they get bumped off. Grr...

Poor Kelly looked devastated, but he certainly wasn't the strongest of the ramaining four.

Next week is the big finale and BOTB is down to the final 3:

Brisebois/Bourne, Bure/Katia & Warriner/Izzy (two habs and a leaf, btw)

If I had to pick, I'd say Patrice and Shae-lyn are taking home the prize. But don't count out the Russians or Todd and Izzy. It really is anyone's competition at this point.

This week, the men had to do a 30-sec solo during their performance. Overall, Warriner/Izzy were the strongest.

Some notes:

- Briesbois/Bourne & the Russians, who have been flawless thus far, did not have great skates. It's a shame, but one of these pairs will probably be eliminated Monday.

- I've been hard on Kelly Chase and Kyoko Ina. But their performance today was really good. They've def booked a trip to the finale next week. Good on them.

- Kudos to Val Bure for picking Queen.

- Is it me or does Shae-Lyn Bourne look good in everything? Just askin'

Thoughts?

No idea how Kelly is still there. He has the sympathy, weight loss, and "work ethic" card goin for him I guess. That said, he's doin well for an enforcer.

Fleury did chocke indeed, and yes, Patrice is the dark horse, but man Val n Katia can skate. Russians...go figure.

Theo Fleury and Jamie Sale have been eliminated. To put it simply, they choked.

Fleury slipped and fell near the end of the routine and then nearly threw Sale into the ice. They were clearly the better team; better than the other skate-off team of Warriner/Brasseur. But they simply couldn't get it done.

In other news, I'm amazed how Kelly Chase and Kyoko Ina are still in the competition. More amazed how they weren't in the bottom two tonight. I guess Chase is this season's Tie Domi.

Thoughts?

Alright, folks. Some damn fine stuff we saw tonight. Here's my top 3:

1. Brisebois/Bourne

2. Fleury/Sale

3. Bure/Gordeeva

Some notes...

- I'm never going to look at Todd Warriner the same way again. haha!

- Fleury is a disco machine.

- Brisebois is the Season 2's dark horse

- DJ Tanner cameo

- Toller Cranston was his usual self.

Thoughts? Feelings? Opinions?

It suited his personaity perfectly. He played a dead stiff. It was a natural peformance, and hence the best of the season!

No contest here. Brisebois and Bourne return to the competition. Wasn't even close in my opinion.

Second chance Sunday!

No question about it! Briesbois and Bourne get my vote. That was awesome! It was fun, it was well scripted and they did it all in three days (apparently).

Honourable mention goes to BGL's hairdo.

Patrice and ShaeLynn were "eliminated" but they will be back next week.

BOTB announced next Sunday will be a second-chance show. The four eliminated couples will compete for a chance to return to the competition. The four remaining couples will get a well-deserved week off.

Thoughts?

Damn. That's all I can say. Everyone put out a solid performance. Don't know who I'm voting for, but I'm leaning towards Warriner/Izzy first and Fleury/Sale second. I think this is the end of the road for Kelly Chase and Kyoko. Kelly's entertaining, but he's being a little too goofy for my liking.

BTW, I think we all got a glimpse into JR's private life. Dude likes the wild west (if you catch my drift).

It's a love hate thing with the russians. Like we can;t get over '72 or something, but we still admire their ability.

PJ Stock and his partner have been eliminated. Not surprised. But what was surprising was having Val Bure and his partner in the bottom two again. Bure has been consistently good; better than someone like Warriner or Kelly Chase.

Does Canada have something against Russian skaters?

Launy's wish will not come true. BGL and his partner, Annabelle Langois, have been eliminated. It was either them or Todd Warriner and Isabel Braseur.

While BGL/Langois took some risks, Warriner/Braseur were more smooth; little more elegant. It was a tough call for the judges; 2-1 margin.

BTW, is it me or does PJ Stock love the camera?

Big Georges continues to impress me. The guys has some grace! And how about Val Bure? Sorry, but Patrice does nothing for me.

GO BGL!!!

Brisebois and Bourne get my vote tonight. Patrice wasn't afraid to get creative and expressive; something hockey players tend not to do.

Your thoughts?

Actually, they're not using MLG. I think they're filming at the CBC building in Toronto. MLG is undergoing some renovations.

BTW, solid pun by Hockey Girl.

I have dealt with Georges "pay it forward" Laroques, and for that matter i am voting for anyone else to win, although the cause is a good one.

At least they are getting use out of Maple Leaf Gardens.

Want to see some double toe loops and a quad, then were talking!

Now if Laroques twirls Brett Hull, he wins hands down!

Please show me some real NHL hockey!!!

if things keep going the way they are going, it will be a big win for big georges.

it's quite different this season from last, because you can see the guys have had a lot more time to prepare.

anyhoo, next season they should wake the show up a bit with paul coffey. and let's see what size figure skates he wears.

BGL doing Hava Nagilla will unite this country.

Meanwhile, Russ Courtnall and Tuffy Hough-Sweeney are the first to be eliminated. A bit shocking. What was more shocking was that Bure and his partner were also in the bottom two.
